question about the negistrem?

i built one today. the only part i had to swap was the 2SK30A for a j201. it works well for a super simple trem but, when i put my byoc tone bender in front of or after the negistrem it makes the fuzz sound like it is horribly mis biased. i tried my sunn buzz with it just to make sure and, the sunn sounded a bit better but still not good. so do i need to slap a input or output buffer on this thing?    http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=58718.msg458401#msg458401

hey, you tried it.. cool  ;D

well, indeed, a buffer or simple voltage follower should work at the input of the Negistrem for avoiding these kind of problems ... tried it with a tripple fuzz, and worked fine

you've built it or breadboarded it? ..any chance for pics? i'd like to see its size, for me, it used like 2x1 cms of board  :o

i built it but i'm leaving for a 3 week tour, a three week tour tomorrow so i don't think i'll get a chance to post any pictures. but i built it on roughly half of a small radio shack perf board. i had to use pots for both of the 1m trims but even with board mounted trims i think you could still get it on half a small board. i definitely think it is worth working on. it's small and simple, seems like a great candidate for a trem fuzz type of thing.

cool, i'm really glad you liked it ... ;)

remember that these pots/trims (for space saving purposes) can be subbed by two 470k resistors

cheers!
