How do you let your guitar "cry" like this guy

hear at time 01:40 of the following video
http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=90590&fr=yfp-t-471

which kind of FX is used, and what´s the way/technic to play strings, I can´t see any left hand´s fingers on the fretboard, just the right hand moving the handle.

thx guys
Armando

sounds like a delay set to 500ms delay, low repeats, next to no feedback and some sort of very high gain pedal like a metal zone - add the type of guitar and his playing style and thats pretty much it - i would guess.

cheers

lol dude, you can achieve lots of guitar sounds without having to use pedals! It's not that complicated  :D

Yeah they're called pinch harmonics...i'll link you to a good online lessons on doing them,

DanielWong

I wasn't sure if it was pinch or natural (too distracted at his facial expression when he did it lol)
Pinch Harmonics:

Natural Harmonics:
http://www.cyberfret.com/techniques/harmonics/natural/index.php

You'll get the same sound with each of them, either way, I just find pinch harmonics more dynamic so I'd use that.

Thx to all

DanielWong thx vm for the links, they're great!!; I've just given a look today from the office, but don't have the guitar with me!!(who has it in the office!?!?!), so I'll try that technique tonight.
