Any thoughts on simply daisy-chaining off of a DC adaptor? How would I go about it and what would I need. Godlyke has a similar product but I'd rather do it myself. Woul I need a lot of parts or can I just wire ends together?

Thanks

Here is what I use now. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Visual-Sound-1-Spot-Combo-Pack?sku=150373 It's so cheap and it works great. No hum with any pedals I tried it with. Just ask RG Keen.

  VS-1Spot is a great product.
It doesn't break ground loops though, I noticed marked overall improvement especially in the noise floor dept. after I began using a Spyder, but that got toasted in a fire a week after I finished it so I got a VooDooLabs PPII+...isolated DC supplies break ground loops.

I use a couple of daisy chained DC adaptors. Found them kicking about my parents house, so thought I'd liberate them. When I tried them they were really noisy, unusable with a couple of my pedals. I should say that this was before I had any clue about DC power/filtering/regulating etc. Then after reading a few posts in this place I went and bought a couple of 9v regulators and conected a couple of 1000UF caps before and after the regulator for filtering - probably complete overkill but I never use them and they were part of a pack. Now both supplies are very quiet. I have no problem with hum at all.

So I guess if you can find a couple of 9v dc adaptors with a decent amp rating then do that to them, which I imagine is just turning them into the equivalent of a  one-spot that was posted above.

I used to use a Pedal Power 2 until money got real tight and I had to sell a bunch of my gear. It was great but I have not had any problems with the 1 Spot. I have been thinking about building a P/S though.

  Yupp, I've used both.
VS-1SPOT was favorite of all the 9v WW type supplies I've tried.

The idea of a little plastic box that your PS plugs into, that splits off several plugs to go out to your effects has been proposed here a couple times.  Here's some pre fabbed right angle 2.1mm cables that would be ideal:
http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=172-4207virtualkey11180000virtualkey172-4207

For cheaper you could cut these in half to get two:
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/CB-204/search/3%22#39;_CABLE_W__2.1MM_COAX_POWER_PLUGS_BOTH_ENDS_.html

You could forego power output jacks on the box and hard wire the cables in, and store some extra slack in the box if you want to lengthen/shorten the cables.

One thing you can do with the box is put a Schottky diode and small resistor in series with the ground connection on each cable back to the minus on the power supply.  That's a modified version of Boss's method for getting rid of ground loops.
