PCB Layout to Pin-per-Hole Conversion: Why's My Boost Now An Overdrive?

I ran into an oddball problem that I just can't figure out, so I'm hoping you guys can help me.

I'm goofing around with adding a couple of effects into a certain size shell, and one of the things I want to add is the AMZ Mini Booster from GGG. His card a little too big, so I've been trying to squeeze everything onto a pin-per-hole board using my own layout -- and now the boost is also acting as an overdrive. That is to say, it's boosting, but it's not boosting clean: the signal is gaining a slight overdrive (which actually sounds good, but that's not what I want).

Here are the GGG links for this booster:

This is a shot of my layout from the top. It's made in Photoshop since there's not a decent layout editor for Macs, so I apologize for the non-standard appearance.

Where did I screw up? To me, it seems that the signal would distort if one of the transistors wasn't being handled by a resistor, but I just can't see where I may have missed it. Can anyone check the schematic and layout and compare it to mine, and see if they can find my error?

TIA

that boost adds grit once you pass about mid point on the vol knob i think. most of the favored boosts here are not truly clean, or are only clean until a certain point on the knob.

The Mini-Boost is not a clean booster. It's supposed to add a little grit. If you want a great pure clean booster, try the Mosfet Boost. http://www.muzique.com/schem/mosfet.htm I have both and use them often.

Well, when I use his PCB, I don't get any signal distortion at all -- I get clean boost.

Like I said in my OP, something's messed up in my translation to Pad-per-Hole. I saw one error already, too: I had missed the ground between R5 and the common. However, when i connect it, the signal is totally dropped. If I crank the vol up max, I can barely hear anything.

So, I'm comparing a build with his card -- which gave me no breakup -- and mine on P-p-H. If anyone can see where I messed up the translation in doing so, I'd much appreciate it.
