Has anyone tried the "Bassman" mod on a Ruby ?
I was going to make one but just realized that I don't have the 220 pF capacitor needed. I thought it said 220 uF. But realizing I was wrong and not having the required part I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this and maybe could suggest a replacement ? My lowest capacitor in store is 0.001 uF.
The 220 pF is placed from lug 3 to lug 2 on the volume pot. What does this thing do and how does it affect the sound ?

I LUVS my bassman/Ruby!!  Keep in mind...it's a clean machine...hehe.

I believe that cap bleeds treble thru...so when you turn down the volume...it doesn't get muddy.
Not a huge issue.  I'm guessing a larger cap would bleed more...so it might get more trebellyier
(I enjoy making up dumb words) when turned down.

On second thought...maybe more *midrangier* is more accurate.
A bigger cap would bleed highs AND upper mids.

Krinor, you can use 2 x 0.001uf caps in series for 500pf, three would give about 330pf   :icon_wink:

I used a .082uf input cap, it sounds a heap better to my ears than the .1uf that's suggested.
Run it off 12V too, you'll love the extra headroom.
