Is there a way to move the clipping diodes into the feedback loop of my DS1?  I just want to try this for fun to hear what it would sound like but I'm not sure how to go about placing them on or in the PCB if there isn't a spot.  I've done a few mods that I found on this forum that worked pretty well but thought it would be cool to get a different result.

Could I somehow place them around or directly on the 1M resistor by the 741 IC?

Compare the schem on freeinfo to this http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=78 from Tonepad. While the diodes are not in the feedback loop in either case, there seems to be a lot missing from the freeinfo schem.
I will quietly resist.

yep, just tack-solder them across that 1M resistor in the feedback loop.
