Hey Guys

I was wondering where to get these jacks

http://petecornish.co.uk/pt8.html

It seems as if they are plastic so they wont ground to your enclosure.. Is that how it is?

I have heard they are really good quality... true?

Thanks

Matt

I absolutely love em.  You can solder right to the lugs, but I mount them directly to the PCB.  Makes wiring a bunch easier, and makes for a cleaner build.
Life is like a box of chocolates.  You give it to your girlfriend and she eats up the best pieces and throws the rest away.

Are these higher quality then the switchcraft?
I know Cornish uses these... i would assume they are since he could use anything for his stuff...

Want a bunch of them cheap?  Keep your eyes peeled for a 2nd hand rackmount patch panel.  With so many studios going digital, the days of the phone-jack based studio seem to be numbered.  I've picked up a couple of these babies for $20 and $25.  They normally come with 96 jacks of the aforementioned type (48 in front, 48 in back).  True, you do have to unsolder them yourself, but the price is hard to beat.

I found that... It seems that the jacks dont get screwed at the ends.. If i need that wouldnt I be better off going with new jacks?

Of the two units I have as my "supply", one has nuts on the jacks, and one doesn't.  I'm starting to use PCBs in my pedals with the stompswitch, LED and jacks mounted on them, which does not require the jacks to be secured to the chassis with nuts.  So, while I understand and empathize with your point, just note that one does not HAVE to use nuts with jacks in every instance.
