I returned traded a DD-6 in for a Tonecore Echo Park yesterday, when I pulled the DD-6's cables [took it out of the SP], this whining noise disappeared.
The sound reminds me of a MAX1044 type whine.
I like the EP better anyway, but the whine is Still There...and I figure it's PS related seeing how I can vary and alter and get rid of it simply by engaging a booster or something similar, it's like putting an extremely slight load on the PS eliminates the whine.
The only other box I suspect might cause whine is a Micro-Vibe...whether it's an LFO in it or something like a voltage doubler, [does the MV have a V doubler in it?] causing the noise is as yet uncertain.
Other than pulling the MV, I like it's vibe tones, is there a suggested isloation/elimination technique I could try on my PB to get rid of that whine?
I'm going to try the obvious stuff..
Pull circuits until whine ceases, try battery instead of the floating DC output, I'm running out of obvious stuff to think of trying.
Thing is I pulled the PS on the MV, but the whine continued.

When all else fails, take rig to another house, and see it it happens there.
Now that the world is filling with switchmode supplies & all manner of crap, the air is thick with trouble..
