JFET matcher...dumb guy question

What am I measuring here?

Battery = 9.57v
IC = 741
jfet = 2N5457

1 = 0v
2 = 0v
3 = 4.75v
4 = 0v
5 = 0v
6 = 9.57v
7 = 9.56v
8 = 0v

D = 0v
S = 9.57v
G + 9.56v

When I put the DMM probes on the designated places, I get 4.77v and .864a. 

Do these look normal?  If not, what is?
