hi there. i wanted to make an AB box for switching amps and to eliminate ground loops. i think the design below should work, unless someone can think of a major floor in it. it uses just a 3pdt switch and should:

1) switch the signal from through to A or B
2) switch the grounding from through to A or B
3) for the unused channel, take its own isolated ground and connect it to its tip to mute the unused channel.
4) eliminate ground loops
5) switch LEDs

the layout took me about 15 mins and i hope that it's clean enough.

has this even been done before??? is this something new that i've designed? i hope so :)

thanks heaps for all of your feedback (no pun) guys :D

Yep that's about how I've always wired my pedals. I prefer to send all the grounds to one of the jacks instead of all 3 of them though (star grounding). And I don't wire the LED ground to the jacks (helps prevent LED pops).

thanks for your reassurance theblueark (: i was just hoping that there wouldn't be any hum through capacitance or something. now the hunt is on for a decent isolated audio jack (:

i like to buy jacks based on how cool they look on the outside :P

i love the switchcraft ones because they don't stick out far past the aluminium enclosure and they have that massive nut.

what does CG stand for?
