Debug on Bsiab

My first build was a Bsiab. It worked 100%.
One day, I had to take it all out of the box, because I wanted to put a label on it and some clear coat.
Also, I took the chance to substitute the J201's with some 2N5457's (in fact, I changed them to 2N5458's, since I didn't have any 2N5457's), and to shorten those wires. After I done that, and with the enclosure ready to go, I put it in again. It didn't work. First, I built an Audio Probe.
Black wire to effect's ground and red wire to play with the solders. Everywhere I touch, no noise coming from the amp. If I stop touching the connections, noise everywhere.
It still didn't work. (well, duh!) Oh, but the leds it's on, when I power up the effect.
Then, I picked my multimeter. I have about 6.5 volts coming from a 9V battery. I have the same on the 9V pcb pad. After it, there's a 1N914 diode. On the anode of the diode I still have 6.5 volts, but on the cathode, 0.00 volts.
My thought is that the diode is dead.
I also measured the transistors, but as the electricity doesn't pass through the diode, it doesn't reach the trannies. So 0.00 for the transistors as well.

Should I replace the diode, or are there any other guesses?

My thought is that the diode is dead
  Testing it with the DMM in diode mode.
  Changing transistors wouldn't by itself stress diode, shorting would.
  are the pinouts and transistors the same/same as what you had working?
  I'd put the DMM in beep mode and test the PS, maybe after trying to figure the voltage drop on the battery, a good 9v shorted puts out less than 1/10th that voltage in my experiments...sounds like the circuit or something is drawing alot of current to drop voltage like that though...

It was the bloody diode. It works now.

Oh well.
Another mod-day. This afternoon I removed those 0.0022uF caps, and put jumpers instead, to see what sound differences could there be.
The differences were quite noticeable as the pedal shut up. When engaged, no sound came through the amp. The bloody diode, the new one, was working badly, as almost all of the voltage didn't pass through it. I substituted it and it was fine. But again, no sound. Then, I saw the transistor chart voltages:

I used J201's for Q3/Q4, as well as 2N5458's.

No sound.

With the help of my audio probe, I saw that everything was ok.
But, when I touched some of the pins of some trannies (with pedal engaged) and strummed a chord on my guitar, there was sound! Not clean, but drive, as of the BSIAB. I had my guitar plugged in to the pedal, and another cord plugged in to the out of the pedal. The audio probe was plugged in to my amp.

Any suggestions?


ADDED LATER:
Is it supposed to exist voltage on every spot of the pedal? For instance, in some of the caps/resistors, there's 0 voltage.

If by the.002 caps you mean C13 and 14, they should NOT have jumpers, just remove the caps.  If you put jumpers across them, you are grounding out the sig.

Got it. A glimpse at the circuit elucidated me. If I had taken a look at it before, I could have figured it out myself. The circuit tells ya everythin', huh?
