I want to build one of these but cant find the transistors.
Can anyone suggest a good current production mouser replacement?

I did a search and all I found were BC109s which I think are also vintage?

I believe the overdriver takes NPN silicon and if anything like the tonebender I build they should be low hfe?

Also if you could suggest optimal values for Q1, Q2, Q3.

Thanks!

futurlec has bc109s if you dont mind waiting a while

Build with sockets, and try these from my Stock List:

SKU 2023 BC109 Work-alike

I also just got some NOS, UK-manufacture, military version BC109. Will be posting those this week,  price $1.00 each.

Thanks SD, whats the difference between all the numbers, 108, 108B, 108C, 109, 109C
Are they different hfe values or different applications?

B and C it are a hfe classifiers as far as i know, where C is the top.

They are different gain ranges, and yes, they do overlap. BC108 is the lowest of all. The BC108B and C are higher-gain buckets of the type. BC109 is higher gain than the 108, and the B and C versions are the highest-gain of all of these.
