LED without a switch....

hey....I'm wondering if it would be possible to turn an LED on/off with a stereo jack as your switch and still use the stereo jack to switch your power on/off? wait....would this work? if it does...that's really easy.

  Yes you can.  An example would be to connect INPUT to TIP; LED/EFFECT GROUND to RING; BATTERY GROUND to SLEEVE.  Just make wure the connection is "switched" between the battery ground and LED ground.  Just check out this GGG layout for reference.  It doesn't switch the LED on with the jack connection, but you can visualize it: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/ge_boost_lo_amz_mosfet.gif.
