Hello All!  :)
I've been working on the final version of this project on and off for a couple of weeks, I just finished testing the circuit
and I must say it sounds Fantastic.
I changed around the output and added one more JFET at the end for a slight boost to address the volume drop some
had experienced using weaker FETs.
A trimmer was added so the user can adjust the volume for unity or slight boost when the circuit is engaged.
Once again, this is truly the ultimate Fender Brown Vibratro circuit and will certainly satisfy many craving this sound.
Make no mistake, this is NOT Tremolo.......this is REAL Vibrato baby!!  :icon_wink:
Many thanks to R.G. Keen for his help with the schematic and project.
Please post any build reports on the Forum if any of you "dare" to build it!!  :icon_twisted:

Have a look;

Sweet! Can i build one with MPF102 instead of the 2n5952?

Arfman

Very cool dude, I'm assuming this circuit was inspired by the old Magnatone amps?

I would not find the schematic on Geo though...would love to take a crack at this, can you point me to one? Thanks...

Right this way.......http://www.geofex.com/
It's a couple of projects down the page.

No.
This thing is very device sensitive.
Other FETS could be used but, you'd have to rebias the whole mess.  :(
2N5485 can be used in place though.

I may finally have to build this one.  Thanks for the layout, and thanks to RG for the cool design.

I can't seem to access your gallery Mark. All I get is the picture of Martina and the one of the groupies.

Breadboards are as invaluable as underwear - and also need changed... -R.G.

i'll tell ya, if you could get your avatar's eyes to roll it would almost be worth it.

shame the layout is gone, it's a must build!  the additional tranny and trimpot is most welcome for the vol issue.

Are there any sounds clips anywhere yet?

BANNED??? WTF???

Did anyone happen to get the updated files?

Ry

I got the parts placement, but not the layout.  The layout can be reversed from the placement diagram, though.

aron

The ban is lifted. It was on for two days max. BTW: I didn't take anything down. If anything is gone, it was removed by someone else.

audioguy

If I knew how to contact him I would beg to have the files put back... his was probably the best collection I've seen!

Hi people, I caught the layout/parts placement file before it was removed, not the PCB mask. Looking at it, I have decided to rework the layout into a slightly smaller one if I can, but with no diagonal traces, so that´s useful for etching OR perfboard construction.
I´m not sure if this rework will make it my artwork, or, since it will be based on another person´s work, it´s not mine. Also, I don´t know all the details of the situation with markm, if he would agree with me posting my work or not, I don´t want to step on anyone´s shoes...don´t even know if he will return here to agree or not with me posting this new/reworked layout.
So, when I finish it, if everyone involved agrees, I´ll post my work (It will take me a while to do it). What do you people think?
Also, is the layout/schem verified to work? Who has built it?

a few people built the original and had issues with a volume drop. I dont know if anyone had time to build this version.

the original version will work fine if you just make a small daughter board with a single adjustable gain stage, and tack it on the end of the crkt.  Mine is built this way.  If you get lucky, you might not even need it, some need it, some don't.
