4k99 resistor on wolly mammoth schem???

ive got a schematic of the wolly mammoth, and i noticed that on the tone control, it says that there is a 4k99 resistor
do these exsist??

i couldnt find a 4k9 resistor either
anyone else who has a w.m. schem could you pm me the actuall resistor value
its the resistor that goes from pin 3 on the tone pot

I believe you could use a 5K or 4K7 there and it shouldn't make any noticeable difference in the sound.

You don't want to go substituting some crap component with a half-assed value in a Woolly Mammoth.  It might trample your entire village.

People have built it using a 4K7 and it turned out just fine.

If you want to be as accurate as possible why not just put resistors in series to match the value?

4.99 is an E96 value and DOES exist.

Still it is is quite likly that it was chosen for other reasons than strictly technical ones, so I also think that you can use 4.7 instead

It is a common value for a metal film resistor type, but not everybody stock it. Check this:

IMHO the value was taken by measurement, 2 x 10k wired parallel should be a good subtitute.
