Also called "native devices" on ICs.  The curse is that they are similar to jFETs in that to turn them off you have to get the gate lower than the source.  Neatest is that it allows the common mode to go below the negative rail at the input in a design.

Looks interesting. I just got hold of some depletion mosfets. They seem useful. Nice simple biasing like a jfet.
