I made a quick-n-dirty recording of my Holy Mackerel distortion pedal at it's nastiest. Here are the details...

• '88 Les Paul with Goodwood pickups straight into the Holy Mackerel (no other pedals used).
• Signal into my Stulce SA-10C at bedroom level, which had Gain 1, Gain 2, Low, Mid, and High all set to noon for a completely clean and neutral EQ.
• Grabbed by an SM-57 2-inches off the grill, halfway between the cone and rim.
• Into my US-122 and into GarageBand with no post-processing at all (except for fade outs).

I set the Holy Mackerel Gain to max, Volume to unity with the amp, and the Tone to 11 o'clock. Guitar volume is maxed and all the tone is rolled out for a nice open sound.

This is about the fattest I run this little gem, and when palm muted at high volume, it makes the windows rattle like a jet's flying over (which equals SWEETNESS). Anyway, this is a sample of that fatness at low volume (which is, to be honest, fatter than I'd record with). The MP3 has a line from Soundgarden and then a little quick blues lick, both ending with wonderful bedroom-level feedback.

Enjoy:

That sounds awesome.  How far off the BSIABII is it?

I have C5 at 560pF, C8 at 1uF, and C12 at .1uF. This main kicker was the higher value in C12 (thanks, Aron).
