These both look promising, but I'm not certain which to build.

I'd be playing through an AC30 or a 50W Plexi.

Any experiences, opinions, suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Breadboard them both and then pick one.

Have you listened to sound clips of both? I agree with some of the other members here that you can never have too many Distortion or Overdrive pedals. I say build both.

the problem ive had with the BSIAB2 is that it didnt have the gain as played in the soundclips ive heard... the one from mr jhon lyons was just too high gain compared with my BSIAB2...
Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar.  If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.

I find the bsiab2 is high enough gain for everything I do except for the Heavy Metal stuff like Metallica. I even use it for Iron Maiden and Judas Priest sometimes. I also push it with my Mini Booster in front of it when I need more drive. I built a Blackfire and an Obsidian for the highest gain stuff, but I rarely play that stuff anymore. Like I said, you can never have too many dist/od pedals. Build them all and have fun.

but really, the BSIAB2 has lots of output volume... nice for tube amps...

Yeah, I've listened to the clips, and I think I like the sound of the Super Nova a bit more. I was just curious if anyone had both of these pedals and could do a comparison.

Guess I should just build both!
