Has anyone built the crash sync and the ugly face?  Sound clips I've heard sound similar, but the designs are pretty different.  Are they really that similar?

I did that with a paint brush and acrylic paint. It turned out OK. The paint was being a little fussy...  :icon_sad:

Crash sync.......lots of cool noise then it descends in to a farty noise as the level drops. I need to try putting a compressor in front but it's definately fun!!! :icon_biggrin:

I used a clothes pin to block and unblock the light of an LED/LDR for the sweep control.  I used a cut upside down small bread pan  as a light shield.  I also added a toggle switch to bypass the LED/LDR and get the low octave out of it.  Fun pedal.

JOHNO

hey randy what circuit design did you use on your crash sync? mine doesnt have and led/ldr design. is that a mod youve dont?great idea that peg.what is the enclosure?some kind of lollie tin?

oldrocker

Yes the LED/LDR was a mod I did so I could cheaply control the sweep effect.  Pretty easy to do actually.  The tin I bought at Micheals craft store.  I use those alot.  My wife thought I was crazy when she saw me adding a clothes pin to a pedal until she saw me jammin on it.  Then she said WOW that's pretty cool!  Just a crazy idea I had.

JOHNO

pretty easy to do indeed,if ya know what ya doin.wanna let me in on the secret?

Could you post more photos/info of the light shield?
