Hi, I'm new to building effects, so I started with a stratoblaster as shown on the general guitar gadgets web site. I ordered the board, and bought the other components localy. Now it is all together, but i am not sure I have the jfet in right. I have the gate to r1 (input), drain to r2 (+9v), and source to r3 (output) Do I have this right?
Thanks, Dan

There are two different schematics for the stratoblaster on the GGG site, but in both cases, the FET orientation is essentially the same:

The gate is connected to the input via a resistor.

The drain is connected to the 9V supply via a resistor.  The output is also connected to the drain (via a capacitor).

The source is connected to ground via a resistor *and* via the boost control (which is also connected to a capacitor to ground).

Thanks  John. That is how I had it. I wired it into my guitar while I was waiting for a reply. I just now tried it, and it sounds great, does exactly what I wanted. brings the output level of my tele up to match my prs, & lp.  Way cool!
thanks again, Dan

Dan,

Glad to hear that it is working well for you!  I did a similar thing to one of my guitars.  It has a great single coil sound, but its output was very low compared to my LP. It became a pain to switch back and forth.  I, unfortunately, do not have a PRS to compare  :'( so on that one, I'll have to take your word for it.   :icon_mrgreen:
