I've tried ebay, google searches & Farnell but can't find anywhere stocking single-inline-package 4558s.  I thought they would be easy to find but they're like needle in haystacks it seems.

Anyone?

Thanks for that, unfortunately the cheapest shipping costs from Mouser to the UK is $35.00 (daylight robbery to ship some opamps)

Anyone in the US fancy ordering them then sending then to me in the UK via USPS? - should only be $5.00 or less based on the new postal rates and components I've bought from the US recently.

I'd just Paypal the cash to you and you can take some of the opamps for your trouble.

SBE Agent Services will handle it. Drop me an e-msj at the smallbearelec address. Anything else you need from the Cave?

This is great...   I would need some triacs from mouser (to repair my furman ar-230), but I would need to pay $35 to have mouser ship them to Belgium.
I intended to do an order from smallbear... big enough that the shipping costs are ok.

So I can ask you to order a component from mouser, and then you could include it in my smallbear order?

Answer yes, and you make my day!   ;)

We do this routinely for items from Mouser and Digikey. Please drop me a message at smallbearelec@ix.netcom.com.

I recently made my first order at Smallbear. I was very happy with it, and intended to do some more from time to time...
But now that I know that I can get items from Mouser and Digekey included...  I fear that I'll order some more from you...
Which is great off course...  8)

Now I see that something about this is written on your homepage, but you should make it more clear. This is another big selling-point for smallbear...

This should be very handy for us extra-americans.
Concerning international postage it's definately a Boo for Mouser and a Yay for the Small Bear !

Guys--

Thanks for your business! However, I must be clear on a point, because it has become an issue in a very few cases:

Mouser, Digikey, etc. insist on Express Mail or UPS/Fedex, because they do not offer you the choice of accepting liability for loss of a package; anything you order is automatically insured for full value and declared for Customs accordingly. Security is absolute, but the price is the very high minimum shipping fee that makes overseas shipping of small packages unattractive.

My shopping cart defaults to uninsured airmail for for small packages. The service is cheap, and it Almost always gets the goods where they are supposed to go (though sometimes with a long delay), but it is emphatically Not insured or traceable. If the package is truly lost, I can't get reimbursed, and neither can you. I have spelled this out in Terms Of Service:

http://www.smallbearelec.com/Ordering/Ordering.htm

so that the choice is explicit. That said, having me add bits and pieces from the other shops usually works out well. The cost to you for a small package is usually $5.00 postage from the distributor to Brooklyn + a handling fee of $5.00 minimum. Digikey also adds a $5.00 surcharge for orders under $25.00.
