I'm currently looking at this schematic:

well technicaly the switch isin't in schematic form. but anyway, my question is where it the volume pot everyone talks about? its not on there, but am i too assume if i want one i should wire it from the 0.22 cap the the footswitch, so the cap goes to lug  3, and lug 2 goes to the output and also to lug 1? im alittle lost. also, is the dark side of the electrolytic caps negative? Last two questions, i promise, where can i find a 6.4uF electrolytic cap, and when you have a pot in a schematic, i know the arrow to the middle is lug 2, and lug 1 and 3 are interchangebale, but is there a way to tell so i get the right rotation the first time? thanks for putting up with me and my questions!

Usually, lug 1 would go to ground.

For correct pot wiring my rule of thumb is : with the pot shaft pointing away from you and the lugs are on top,  lug #1 (grounded) is on the far left side.
