Buying a Multimeter...............

I'm getting ready to buy a multimeter and I don't know which kind to buy, any help?  Also, does anyone have any helpful info on how to use one of those things or when and where they come handy. Sorry for newb questions.

and I think you will find the price competitive. Like most what's out there, it comes with a poorly- written leaflet explaining its functions. As soon as I can make time for it, I will do a How-To article geared to helping a first-time FX builder make use of this intrument.

Decent but as usual, Ebay kills the competition.

Capacitance, diodes, resistance etc.

What ever you do, make sure you get one that tests continuity.  99% of the errors I find when debugging something I put together are with the continuity tester, because something is connected that shouldn't be, or something isn't connected that should be.
