AMZ Mosfet Boost not working redux...

Ordered the board from Jack and replaced R2 with 100k pot to bias.  Using BS170 from ON SEmiconductor and checked the pinouts and they are correct.   However my voltages are:

D 4.19v
G 4.21v
S 4.18v

I know they are off.  Autoprobed and get signal up to the gate then nada.  Funny thing is when you touch the gate pin I get a lot of static.   In fact if you put pressure on it you can get the boosted sound.   I measured the voltage at the 10M and 100K trimmer junction and its 8.54v.

I know the Source is way too high and the drain is low.   Could the BS170 be fried?  I replaced it once already and got the same readings.

Man thanks for all the positive vibes.   I unsoldered the 100k trimmer because it wasn't adjusting the drain voltage.  Tested it and resoldered it.  Voila, adjusted the drain to 5.57 and damn this thing boosts.
