Hi folks, this might belong in the lounge but i wasn't sure, the link i have pasted is me playing in a pub in Glasgow called Sammy Dows which has different band every weekend through the year, the song is our take on an old Buffalo Springfield song called "For what its worth" originally played at a faster tempo with major chords, we made it into a guitar based jam type number in a minor key, anyway the first guitar passage has an easyvibe which i made(thanks to Geofex and this site) along with a Boss SD 2 Dual Overdrive modded to Indyguitarist's specs(thanks Brian)  with some other stock pedals, DD3,Dunlop Wah.
I'm not trying to make a point but modded or Diy pedals have a place in a live setup every but as much as off the shelf pedals have, i have used my homemade pedals on every gig since i have started this hobby and they sound as good if not better than their commercial counterparts, cheers Crawf

I don't see why DIY would not be better.

They are hand wired, have TB and have better components than commercial pedals.

DIY and stock are both good.   TB is just good 'cos it's easy for DIY ...(ducks)

Hey Crawf - great playing! Is that a regular Strat or is there a humbucker in the bridge?  And is that a Peavey Classic 50?

Crawf

Thanks George, My strat started life as a Strat Plus but has had a lot of pickup changes through the years, yes its a Dimarzio Super Distortion at the bridge with two Hot alnico single coils, the head is a Peavey Classic 50 Tweed and the cab is a old 4x12 not sure of the make, maybe selmer or soundcity or similar, cheers Crawf.

Hi, good vid, nice to see someone else in scotland on the forum.

boogietube

That was great! Love the playing!
Too bad about the vocals. Sorry, I was in a CSNY cover band for 5 years. It seems that there are a million great musicians out there, but few people can nail the vocals.

boogietube, this isn't a cover, but a great interpretation of a great song!

Crwaft: Great vid! I like how you took this song in a new direction.

Love watching greying geezers like myself rock out.  Just a friendly reminder that you don't have to have tattoos, punctures, visible ribs, mascara, weird hair, tinted hair, or even ANY hair to rock out, and do so solidly.  Facial expressions, though, are always in good taste. :icon_wink:

Crawf

Now Mark when you put it like that i'll need to dig out the Grecian 2000  :icon_lol:  Yeah its amazing how time has flown while i was enjoying myself, nearly thirtyseven years playing ! :o   Cheers guys!!!

Geez-o aint that the truth.

Speaking of hair, have you seen the Jan 2008 Guitar World? good 'ol Jimmy Page at 60-something and with nearly white hair, the dude still looks like rock-n-roll.
(there's 2 covers available, I got the one where he's holding 'ol #1)
