Switching order?

One of my friends recently asked me how the order switch (eg. distortion > boost or boost > distortion) works on the Fulltone GT-500 and to be quite honest, I've got no idea how he does it. I've tried many different ways with a DPDT and 3PDT switch and I just CANNOT get it to work.
I realise that it's probably something quite easy and my long weekend's just taking it's toll on me, but I'd appreciate it if anybody could work out how it's done.
Thanks again guys :)

You can do it with a 3pdt toggle or a 4pdt with an LED.

Or you can do it with a 3pdt with no LED.

I realised you might mean that you're not sure how to do it even if you have all the poles on the 3pdt.

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

Assuming we have these connections we need to make:
FX1-IN
FX1-OUT
FX2-IN
FX2-OUT
INPUT
OUTPUT

Ok draw this out and it'll make more sense:

Connect FX1-IN to "6".
Connect FX2-IN to "4".
Connect FX1-OUT to "1" and "8".
Connect FX2-OUT to "2" and "9".
Connect INPUT to "3" and "7".
Connect OUTPUT to "5".

There are probably a few variations to this where you can swap the double connections of the the FX-OUTs with the FX-INs but this is the general idea. I've wired it up before and from memory this is how I did it. Double check my theory and see if it works.
