Anyone try something like this, similar to a PP  amp?
  But small signal ?
Maybe throw a boost, buffer and or distortion in for good measure..
PI could be a mosfet D/S.
PP amp could be a PNP / NPN mosfet 'over under' amp thing, maybe 18v or so, driving a primary/secondary for output.
I should have used more question marks...I'm probably overlooking a simple high hurdle or wall ?

Kevin O'Connor writes about this in The Ultimate Tone (cant remember if it's TUT1 or TUT4). His view is that it's not such a good idea, at least that it doesn't result in "tube"-like tone. SS components are too different from tubes to make it worth while I guess.
