Slowly but surely, I'm falling for Eagle -- but there's a little bugger that's bugging me: some components don't want to align to the grid. Check out the 5, right-most diodes in the pic below:

None of them will snap to the grid points at center -- but all the other components are. The left-most diode is snapping to place fine, too. I also notice that some of the routes aren't 100% straight when there's no reason for them not to be.

Any ideas?

Somewhere along the way your grid resolution has been changed when adding components.

Click on Grid (graph paper icon in the upper left)
change the resolution to .01 (you may have to zoom in to see the dots)
align the components.

change the grid resolution back to snap the components to the normal orientations.
You can also align your traces.

Also changing the grid resolution to a finer setting helps to place text in exact locations on the board.
