Heya,

I'm in need of information, so i can decide whether my DL4 is faulty.  :icon_sad:
Plug in your instrument and just switch on and off your models (other than 'Loop Sampler' and 'Reverse') via the footswitch; no need to play your instrument during switching.
Do not forget to 'Save' after you switch to another model, else you will switch off the preset and it will return to the model you saved there.

Now please tell me, does it make an *audible* clicking noise from the amplifier, and if the click is always the same volume, and if it only clicks when switching the preset from 'Off' to 'On', the other way around, or both.

I need to evaluate whether I have a faulty device or if its a common 'feature', and, in the case of the 'feature', come up with a way to fix it.   :icon_cry:

your help is greatly appreciated!  :icon_biggrin:

Hi, I've been messing with several members of that series of pedals recently, they use relays to do true bypass, so there is a little click when they switch, like a regular stompswitch that does true bypass will click to some degree.

You can make it so you signal always runs through the pedals AD/DA and get popless switch (and delay trails) if you want.  I honestly can't tell the difference between it on or off, I know they use sigma delta type digitization, which works totally different than the typical digital conversion and seems to do much better for audio that can get real quiet at points.

you plug in the input while holding the 1st and 3rd stompswitches down to set it in this mode. It remembers until you switch it back.

Of course in any case the relay pop shouldn't be heinously loud, if it is something is busted, or another pedal or amp is putting dc on the in or out and it pops when suddenly connected to a ground referenced signal in the pedal.

I use the DL4 and the filter modeler, both in *true-bypass* and I get no pops when switching.

I get an occasional click.  It's not all that obtrusive, but it's definitely there at times.  That in and if itself doesn't make the pedal broken....

thanks for your replies! you made my day.

hypothetically speaking, does the reason for the 'click' in the relay lie in its design, or is it something, that could be cured by modifying the network around the relay with pulldown resistors?

bwanasonic, would you be so kind and look on the board, to check what type of relays are installed in your device?

Processaurus, do you know which pins i'd have to measure for dc on the relay? i guess i could block that away with a pulldown resistor, couldn't i?
looking at the board from underneath, i guess the little square soldering eye of the relays is pin number one, right?

cheers,
