I bought a broken Line 6 Stereo Tone Core dock and there's a cap that burned to a crisp. It's C38 and located just below the multi-pin connector on the left side. It's an SMD cap but pretty big for SMD and brownish. There's a yellowish cap C37 right next to it.  If anybody could look at theirs and get a value for me I'd appreciate it very much.

I'll try to help if I can.  I've got a couple of those docks, but they're two different versions so I need to know which one you have.

Is yours a) heavier than a brick or b) a standard lightweight pedal.   And...

Do you have a row of tall 1/2 inch or so pins on the board that go into a socket on the pedal?

I'm not in front of my pedals at the moment, but answering this for me will help.  By the way, my "lightweight" one with the row of giant pins died suddenly, and I cannot figure out why.  Nothing looks fried and it's impossible to trace...

It's heavy, stereo, and has the row of pins.    There's probably more wrong with mine that this one cap I fear, but that's the only thing that's obviously fried. I don't have much hope in reviving it really.  I paid $5 for it with the flanger module. Hopefully the module is ok and I can find another cheap dock.

I'll try to look at mine tonight, but yeah I think you may be out of luck.  Funny, I got mine for 5 bucks too, but the echo park module inside still works perfectly!  :icon_mrgreen:

I bought it that way for $5 in hopes I could fix it.  My guess is somebody used a wrong power supply with it.  This cap looked like charcoal and it just crumbled away.  It's the only Line 6 pedal I own so I can't comment on reliability.

Here's my take:  I've got an "older" dock which doesn't have the giant row of pins, and a newer dock that does.  The older dock is fine.  Same with my friends dock.

The "newer" dock worked for a while on all the modules but the Verbzilla.  Roto Machine, Crunchtone, and Echo Park all worked fine.  After 1 week, the newer dock quit working, but the module's LED's would still light up.  So obviously current is flowing through the pedal to at least the point of the module.

Saw nothing broken inside the pedal.  All solder joints and jacks looked pristine, but I went ahead and re-touched everything with my soldering iron just to be sure.  No matter what there's no output of any kind in active or bypassed mode.
