That video is beautiful. There truly is a fine line between art and craftsmanship!

Yes, i think that qualifies as both.. :) Coolest thing i've ever seen.

That was totally amazing! I was mesmerized the whole time!

If that's not a labor of love, I don't know what is!  :icon_eek:

Thanks for the link - very cool indeed!

There's quite a few steps there that he makes look easy but I 'm sure require a lot of skill.

At the start you get the impression he doing it in his back yard, but it couldn't be further from the truth.  Check out the jigs and tooling he has at his disposal.  The machine shop at the end gives you an idea of the stuff he has access too.

From a technical side I know real valves used coatings to aid emissions from the heater - you aren't going to get that from NiCr wire - perhap's thats why they glow so brightly?

A bit of me still can't believe someone would make tubes by hand.

Well, that gives him an excuse to sell each one for $300. After all, they're hand made "boutique tubes".  :icon_wink:

so, who wants me to build them their "signature" 12ax7?
Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar.  If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.
