When you have a burn you should immediately put it under a cold running water and keep it there for a while. You could use a grease patch over the burned area. These you can buy from your pharmacy.
  And welcome to the forum.

toothpaste, mustard, or ice. my dad always told me to piss on it. don't know if that would help.  :icon_razz:

aloe vera is excellent for burns...i used to have a plant that i had to use on occasion after a burn...clip off a stalk and squeeze the gel out...the stuff works wonders!

I immediately went for the cool/coldish water... ran it over the two fingers for about 30 minutes.  the excruciating pain lasted about 10 hours... Now I have two serious blisters.

but, on the plus side, I finished a send/return, a/b selector and 4-channel passive mixer (all 3 in one box)

I like the idea of the aloe plants.  although these burns were so intense that I don't know if it would have helped.

you can believe I was a LOT more cautious the next time I stepped up to the plate....

So here we say welcome, and then you go and get hurt.  Now your mom's gonna give you grief about hanging out with a bad crowd.  On the plus side, you can tell her it will make your fingerprints so unique that you will never ever be able to turn to a life of crime! :icon_wink:

Hope it heals fast.

P.S.:  A great many of us here, myself included, have had the exact same injury from the exact same circumstances.  Which is of course why we build so many projects.....because NONE of us can turn to a life of crime.

Welcome to the forum!  Don't feel bad, my friends son grabbed his wife's curling iron on the hot end and couldn't let go.  Oh wait, he was 3...

Just poking some fun.  Yes, I've grabbed the wrong end of a soldering iron too.  Luckily I am jumpy so I let go in less than an instant.  I highly recommend having a soldering station instead of a simple "stand" so that it sits in a protective shield (looks like a spring coil.)  I think I grabbed mine at Radio Shack for $7.00 or so...
