Title says it all! What is the simplest fuzz I can make using only Radio Shack parts?

Probably the Bazz Fuss as it has such a small parts count. That said, I really don't like the sound of mine, even after socketing EVERY component and trying every combo of transistors, diodes, caps and resistors I have.

My vote goes for the multi-face. Still my favourite fuzz so far (including one of the "forbidden circuits"); but I'm trying the Easy Face next.

Use a trimpot for the collector resistor, like in the fuzz face, to fine tune the sound. Expect values as high as 250k depending on the transistor gain.

If radio shack has low gain transistors like 2n2369A, bd139, 2n3903 then the axis fuzz is a good choice.

You could easily do a "stock" Fuzz Face from Radio Shack parts. The ones near me, however, don't sell pots in the right values (and the shafts are like friggin 6 inches long!), and of course they don't sell stomp switches, but otherwise you'd be good.

You can also do a LBP-1 form the parts drawers at Radio Shack.

+1 on the Multi-face.  There are 2 Radio Shacks by me and both have everything you need.  It's a little more expensive.($1.29 for an 22uf electrolytic cap).  I get the switch from the store here at the forum. Can't go wrong for the price.

You could also to do the simple version of the Smash Drive or Big Daddy with a 386.

Sometimes I think that I should start saving the 5 1/2 inches that I cut off and take it to the scrap yard for the scrap aluminum $  :D

You can make Jack Ormon's Muffer from Rat SHack parts. I did.  You have to hack saw the pot shafts a few inches but other than that it's good to go.

Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Dragonfly

good ol' silicon FF

use a 1k instead of the 330/470 ohm

100k volume pot

2n3904 transistors

10k bias trim

100 ohm between Q1 emitter and ground

"100 ohm between Q1 emitter and ground"

Dragonfly how this one influence the circuit? I've heard about it but cant remember ...?

You could use this schematic and small signal Si NPN transistors all kinds of numbers

http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/gusFuzzFace.gif

and make R1 a fixed 820 to 1.2K ohm resistor if you don't want the external bias adjust pot.

Work out the math of the openloop gain of Q1 with the 10K and 100 ohm

Yes this circuit is a lot like one of the VOX ones that people seem to miss as a newtweek clone.

lowers the gain of Q1
