My pedal board is getting over crowded so i would like to put my DIY over-drive boards and fuzz into one box selectable by one 6dpt rotary switch eg BSIAB, Blues-breaker, TS 808 modded, MXR250, (plus Muff fuzz not used much).
Only one overdrive or fuzz will be available at one time (but they will be all powered up by PSU) selectable with the rotary switch and bypassable with a foot switch.
Is there any problem with doing this? will there be popping as the switch is rotated for example?

The only possible issue I could see is one or more of the unused distortions squealing because the input is floating (and gain is so high).  That could be solved by using analog switches or transistors to short the inputs of the unused circuits to ground.

Alternatively, I've thought about the same thing (putting all my fuzzes in one big box for a different sound every song), I like Keith, the BYOC guy's solution:

I think people here have discussed how to make a sequential switch.  Also the sequencer at Geo is almost there (CMOS binary count up/down driving a sp8t analog switch), if you fan out the counter to control multiple sp8t analog switches.

Thanks
Does squealing matter if the effects output is not connected as its 6dpt switch the outputs will be switched as when the input is?
