Hello all,
I love trems and my fave so far is the Lune.  Has anyone here built both the Lune and the Hearthrob?  Opinions?

I have built them both.  I had volume drop issues w/ my hearthrob, but it sounded great.  The Lune is very versatile, there's really no trem sound it can't do.  The only thing it can't do is the vibrato/trem sound.  MarkM and RG worked on a design a while back called the vibratone(i've built this as well, very nice), it is a slightly diff sound.  The bass and treb are slightly modulated.  I think it's still in MarkM's gallery.  If I only had to choose one trem, it would DEF be the lune.

Check out Steve's Trem Bear too.

I just finished building one and am really happy with it. It has two speed controls, depth, bias and volume. Its very good at doing a chop style trem.

john lyons has clips of most of these on his site for reference. that may be a good place to start

Thanks for the replies.  I'm taking off friday and plan on building something!   I've got to re-house a phaser and I'd like to etch a couple boards and get some things going.  I'm going to build another lune - I lent mine to a friend and I'm never getting it back.

So is the heartthrob different enough to make it to the pedal board, or should I just stick with the lune?  If you have both, which do you use?

IMHO you don't need the hearthrob if you have the lune.  It's rather limited compared to the lune's or the trembear's capabilities.

cool, thanks for that snoof...
