I already said this on the etched enclosures thread, but I freaking love it. So good. 8)

Thomasha, care to share Solderman's PDF files using https://www.docdroid.net or something similar, I've checked this thread https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=83321.120 and all the links are dead, and unfortunately unavailable with www.archive.org? :(

Here you have the originals

https://docdro.id/vQcmsud
https://docdro.id/R8g06Fn

But there are some strange mistakes/choices.

For example:
- There are no ground or 9V pins.
- The 100uF cap is after the 1k LED resistor.
- There is only one 9v rail for all chips (ticking noise).

My Eagle files you find here:
https://www.4shared.com/file/VJjne7Etfi/UF_online.html
https://www.4shared.com/file/tsrn78oXfi/UF_online.html

The schematic is a little ugly, the layout is almost the same.
I just added some caps, a resistor between the clock chips and the audio chips, and the boss approach to correct the ticking.
I would change the 3PDT model to the same as used by solderman, since the pins in my layout are too small.

Cool, thanks a lot!

Here some pictures of my small Univibe build.

Only 11 mm diameter space around the LDRs.
The lamp was also quite long, so I drilled through the board, to gain the extra 2 mm.

I had to measure it a lot to make this fit perfectly, since it is impossible to hide a bad hole for this sliding switch.

I would tell you my initial reaction to this build, but the forum would censor 2/3 of the words. Excellent work, inside and out. 8)

Well, at least you DID have words for your initial reaction :icon_lol:. I got words for my 3rd or 4th reaction, but I'm sure the forum would ban me for 9/10 of the words :icon_lol:.

Good Lord, man!  A through-hole Univibe in a 1590A.  Hang it up folks, we have a winner!

SO UNBELIEVABLE!!!  :o

I'm having trouble to put Electra distortion in this small box :)

You shall put bigger pictures here, there are some of us with big monitors and even bigger dioptre :) This kind of masterpiece really deserves to be seen it all it's glory!

I think that wins the internets for the month.

"I had to measure it a lot to make this fit perfectly ...." < that's pretty funny.

I was afraid that he will have 9V battery hidden behind the first PCB :)

I also made a video of it, just to show some different settings

I'm not sure if I biased the lamp correctly, but it sounds quite intense to me.

Hi there,

I've been reading this thread a lot the past few month and found it awesome. Here's my small contribution.

This is not a toaster !!! This is a prototype of the RunOffGroove Fetzer Valve Revisited.

I found out that we always drill holes in our enclosures, and wondered about slots. Emulating a triode is refering to valves and their strange and mysterious lightning. So I proceed some tests and ended with this prototype. I've added an orange LED and left out the footswitch, since this looks like an "always on" effect in my case.

I like the sound, but still have to work on design, let's say it's a start.

Welcome, balno!  Nice work there!
Where did you get that mesh?

Technical difficulties.  Please stand by.

balno

Thanks !

Mesh was bought in a local hardware store, they sold this as 'deployed metal' here in France. This mesh size is pretty big to my taste. I found the perfect size in my wife's hairdryer but, unfortunately, she caught me staring at it and I got a glance meaning "don't even think about it"... She knows me so well...
