Now it's time to find a new project. Just don't know what.

Well, if you are asking, I've always wanted to have Ross compressor in 1590A box. :)
And maybe phase 90?
Maybe you wont get it in a 1590A but did you see my post about making a TZF Electric Mistress with MN3007s as your on a bit of a Flanger High? If you could get that in a 1590B you'd be my hero  :icon_mrgreen:
Why not
I have 9 NOS Can CA3080 in my bin and I just might do a layout to fit both the Ross and the MXR.
And I have made a Pase 45 so why not a 90  ;D

Here's a phase 90.

Danielzink made one too.

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

Ummagumma

Yes, I know, but there are two things that I love and appreciate about Solderman:

  • he shares his work  ;)
  • his layouts are little works of art! (no offense to other builders)

so, solderman keep up the good work man!  :icon_cool:

Hi and welcome knealebrown
Yes most certainly as a hang around. That build and the graphics are "super"
The purple on lime green is top nudge modern contemporary classy design. But before you can become a real member you have to show us that you have the guts. ;D

thanks solderman, the mrs is off with the good camera at the mo  >:(. im not sure the macro setting on this cheapy will handle the small scale. currently cooking up a stratoblaster and a orange squeezer in 1590 fasion so will post all three guts then. Thanks for the props but im a bit gutted as after thinking about it for a while i wish id been a bit more imaginative and called it 'disco hard on', it would seem to fit the design no?

I'm Really looking forward to see them. Here is more on the same subject. Put this disco queen in front of your "Super" and you are there.

OK here it is. This is the project to build if you want a supreme compressor. It's the layout for the Diana Ross Compressor. She is a smaller take on the Tonepad "use the same PCB for both MXR Dyna Comp and Ross Compressor". Just a little bit smaller.

It's NOT VERIFIED yet

Crap! I'm starting to regret that I decided to build a pedal this small. Had everything lined up perfectly... ALMOST. Guess who forgot to take the actual cicuit into the calculation? And when I finally got it all together, it wouldn't work properly so I had to tear it all out and start over. CRAP. The case ended up being a bad stompswitch, so I'll just have to wait for my next batch to come in, and it should be all up and running. Note to self: drill the hole for the jack's further from the backplate, and drill the switch-hole closer to the short end of the box. Oh well.

Wierd thing is... The switch has been working for a few years now... I just tore it out of my wannabereplicaBeavisboard to use it for this build while I waited for the new switches. Must have fried it somehow? Never had that happen before...

Bottom line is; the only thing motivating me for my other 1590A-build, which will be completed early next week when my next packages of stuff arrives, is watching all the great shit you guys have but into those small enclosures.

BUT. Anybody got a drilling-template they would like to share? I really have to use one next time.

I use this, And use a dremel tool to cut the jack to fit whwn its needed.

Great! Thanks :)

heres my stratoblaster, and also the gut shot of my SHO that solderman wanted to see to 'make sure i had the guts'  ;D
not the neatest, but i have the soldering skills of an impatient child.

can i join the club now? :icon_mrgreen:

Yes knealebrown, you can join the club.  Actually the Stratoblaster paintwork is worthy of a "how the hell did he get it so perfect?" thread - magnificent work, as is almost everything in this thread.  I don't have any 1590A's in work right now, so the only reason I replied is to welcome you to a club I'm not a member of yet and get automatic hits on this thread under the "show new replies to your posts".  I just love gawking at all the eye candy and pedal porn.

Yea you now show'n us that ypou have got the guts ;D
And the paint/graphic layout on thos pedals moves you from wanne be to  you on the "want to be like you.." status.

You have graduated with higest level

boom, thanks! Any chance of a link to a few of your verified 1590a build files please solderman? ive only built 1590a stuff on vero so far and it would be nice to try and get my teeth into some pcb stuff thats a bit more complex than just a boost/preamp, phaser?

The answer to that question is Star trek.....
Or .....
Space the final frontier ???

Or more correctly, my ISP only provides 100Mb of space for a homepage with no options to expand within non enterprise (see, star trek again) terms so....  I have to tidy up to fit the latest in. And yes I do have the intention to do so but time is also a dear commodity ;D

Has anyone tried to include cliff jacks, DC jack and board mounted pots on their PCB yet? You wouldn't need a single length of wire to put it together!
