Here's my first attempts into the world of the mini pedal (these are actually 1090NS enclosures). First is a Tiny Trem circuit pedal that I built with clear shaft pots and knobs:

My major mistake I made and fixed was drilling the pot holes side by side and not realizing until I was putting it together that the knobs are too big to fit that way! So I had to fill the hole and just BARELY had enough room to drop the pot down a bit to make both knobs fit. The left knob is the rate knob and flashes the speed as the knob is turned, and the right knob is the smoothness knob, as well as the on/off indicator. This was a fun and easy little project that I think just about any beginner into 1590A-size pedals should tackle.

And, Here's my first mini I built (also with the clear shaft pot):

Pretty simple, it's a SHO circuit with the on/off indicator built into the pot. I went with a violet led just to try something different. I dig it.

Next up, mini Green Ringer!  ;D

I bet the flashing rate pot looks awesome! I really need to try one of those some time!

Thanks Rob! I really love this little circuit (Actually the "Brulé" is a play off my last name, which is Brouelette, that people often pronounce as "Brulé"). When I get moved to my new place in a couple weeks I'd like to do some tweaking to work on getting the volume up, but It's gonna be tough to fit another circuit, that's for sure!

I get the pots from Mouser so I don't know if they ship to the UK or not. Page 722 of the catalog. I wish I could find smaller clear knobs, but the ones that Smallbear sells are the only ones I can find.

Some messy little guts from my tremolo:

I'd love to start doing pcb's soon like Solderman does, with the switch being included in the actual board.

Wha? Huh?
How are you doing the switching in that? And with indicator in the pot shaft no less!

I wouldn't call that messy. (Mainly cuz my guts tend to be what I call messy. ;)

Quote(MXR) Noisegate - heavily modified

mods: Attack-pot, Release-pot, attenuation-pot, sattelite box momentary switch (*defeats gate= instant noise internal in circuit "silent/transperant switching)
*1590G a bit wider then 1590A AND thinner = same'ish volume much closer to 1590A then B.
Can you link the schem/layout, please??? I've tryed mxr noise gate like... 5 times, and it doesn't works :icon_sad:

Check out deadastronaut 's Tiny Tremolo thread for the circuit information. I'm not entirely sure how the switching works, but it works quite well (it's not true bypass though).

Mostly, I just need to zip tie my wires together. Usually I'm too lazy if it's a pedal for my own use...

Hey! I saw her on youtube the other day... collaborating with GMD

Nice!

And are those white metal knobs??

Pigyboy

Yeah, she is the bomb! So this pedal will be coming to a youtube channel near you soon!
And yes those are some knobs I got from Gov't Lackey. Kind of a dull platinum color. We can ask him where he gets them...
Thanks

I got another A box, but I really don't know what I wanna do with it after the Toe Jam Wah, lol. That's gonna be a hard one for me to top.

Any ideas? Ring mod? What would the treadle control, carrier frequency? Someone at another forum mentioned that, and I have a circuit that works pretty good, and it's small, lol.

I definitely don't want any kind of dirt pedal, no need for a booster, have 3 chorus' now (amp, L.A., and an unboxed Anchovie one-chip) so that's out. I could go for a Bass Brass Master... with 9V on-board for a challenge. I guess that's in the Ring Mod area... I use the same circuit in place of the transformer.

Hmmm... spring reverb?  ::)

Chris, got a top shot of that thing? That's pretty clean looking!

Just saw it on your pedalboard picture. Very cool looking! Ever try anything like Flitz or Metal Gloss? From what I've heard from quite a few bikers, the Metal Gloss is the bomb-diggity. Chrome-like finishes that apparently stand up to road grime and dirt, so may be pretty good on the polished boxes.

Hey everybody!
I am thinking about a new 1590a project with three pots arranged in a triangular...
I saw small bear has some small pots...any other source?
Would 12mm pots do or do i need the 8mm ones?
Thanks

12 will do but it depends on the circuit. I have made 3 pot 1950A with both 12 and 9mm check my site for more info.
The only bad sounding stomp box is an unbuilt stomp box. ;-)

Fuzz Factory in a 1590A. Also my first enclosure etch. It turned out a lot better than the photo gives justice to but still not "perfect".  ;D
