FWIW, vector graphics are one of the keys to laser etching as well.  Pixel based graphics usually look pretty bad.

sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or lye....cheap and cleans your drains......everybody wins

Also I found this....Imma use it on the next go....you drop in a bitmap and get back a vector image

+1 Vectors and Sodium Hydroxide/NaOH would be my recommendations! :)

I've used my free vectormagic.  It's fantastic.

Here's my first 1590A build. Really made me appreciate the 1590B/BB enclosures I normally work with.  :icon_mrgreen:

I guess you could call it a modified EM Drive. I removed the gain pot, added a clipping section and a BMP tone stack. Sounds ok, but I'll be trying out different transistors than the 2N3904 that's in there now.

Thanks for the tip on the Sodium Hydroxide. Is that something easily found or should I just be looking for lye?

Oh, yes and vector based, of course. I've been using Omnigraffle. Had to figure out a few tricks when sizing stuff tho...

I just use normal caustic soda/drain cleaner, you want to mix an approx 40% NaOH solution, so 40g per 100ml of water. Be sure to only add NaOH to water and not the other way round, the reaction can get violent, make sure you wear thick rubber gloves! It's really not that dangerous tho as long as your careful.

noobamp

NaOH (or sodium hydroxide) is just fancy talk for Lye....Ochem for the win! I got mine at the hardware store....cheap too

Can always get food grade from your friendly local pretzel making supplies shop.( NaOH that is.)

OK, one guess on what this is.   :icon_mrgreen:

False marketing! There's way more components inside than the schematic shows  :icon_mrgreen:

Nice work (again) Pickdropper. How do you do the white labeling?

Hey, one has to leave a little bit of mystery.  :-)

Thanks Peter, the marking is a laser etch.  I particularly like t with this enclosure color (anodized blue from PPP).  The contrast is better than with many oft he other powder coat colors.

Hey, one has to leave a little bit of mystery.  :-)

The plot thickens, two diodes in the schematic, but only one on the PCB ??? And I suspect that one isn't even one of the schematic ones. Do you have SMDs on the other side? Come on now, fess up.

Plus, I call bullshit on the schematic, only six parts of it make sense. That cap resistor pot diodes network is shorted out   ::)

Actually, there two diodes on the schem are the LEDs.  :-)
