just make sure your etch is deep enough so you dont sand your beautiful and shiny paint like I did...

I'm usually ok at getting a deep etch, I can't seem to find any metallic enamel in the UK tho, would you happen to have a link to the paint you used?

elflicho87

maybe varnish is the right word (wordreference)... acrylic I think
anyway, it was the first time I bought a spray can, I just picked the one I liked the best in a small local store, so nothing special.
here is a link of the brand, but it is an italian brand, so not very useful for you.    http://www.cfg.it/scheda.asp?p=995

I can finally contribute to this thread  :icon_biggrin:
This is my second 1590a build, the first one is being refinished at the moment  ;)
Its a Bazz Fuss   ::)
I wanted to make a fuzz face, but this bazz fuss has more gain and better fuzz than any of the fuzz faces i could bredboard.
Usually they sound a bit farty, but the trick on this one was to increase the 10K resistor to 680K. Now its a killer fuzz :D
I can switch between a tropical .033uF for a smooth fuzzy distortion(If i remember right) or a electrolyte 3.3uF for a fat, dirty fuzz
The pot controls gain (wired like on the fuzz face)
Its 100K pot, but i will change it to 50K later since the first half of it wont effect the gain at all.

You know it is good when your jazz teacher starts playing iron maiden  :icon_lol:

The messy guts:  :o
It's not always easy, but it's never impossible :D

You call that messy??  You do yourself an injustice: that's real purdy, inside and out.    :icon_cool:

That should be marked τ/4, no?

360 degrees = 2 x Pi Radians, so Pi/4 would be appropriate for a Phase 45.

Havaden

Well i guess il take it as a compliment :D

About that Jmwreck pedal. Thats a neat way to get rid of all the spare parts i have laying around. I have no idea where they come from!

That's a "tau," not a "pi."

Sorry, math teacher humor.  http://tauday.com/

Ah, of course you are right.  On my smallish phone's screen, that nuance escaped me; I read it as Pi.

So yes,  Tau/4 is fine.  :-)

I have no idea how to finish that pedal, so I ended it using the leftovers...

That is actually the transparent copper finish from Pedal Parts Plus.  It's a fantastic looking finish.  And quite durable.

My first 1590A, only a simple build but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
