I tried to search this whole topic because I am sure it has already been asked and probably answered (but I couldn't find it):

Does Sir Pickdropper publishes his fantastic layouts anywhere? I am a big fan of 1590as in general and so, naturally, a big fan of his work, too!

I generally don't release my Eagle files, but I do occasionally have fab runs done and offer boards (for some of the designs at least).  I usually don't post them for sale here because that doesn't seem to be the vibe here.  If there is something in particular you are looking for, feel free to shoot me a PM

SMD Klone I also posted in main pics thread. I have to say, it is WAY easier to fit things in a 1590A with SMD. It's just so stinkin' flat. This board would have been a piece of cake to fit if I hadn't used those through hole caps on top. I cut the width pretty close, though. I had to dremel off the little tabs OSH Park leaves behind because the 2mm made a difference! ::)

beauty...love those knobs too.. 8)

+1.  The whole presentation is great.

I've considered grabbing those knobs from Small Bear on multiple occasions.  I think have to follow through and get some.

Thanks guys!

The only downside with those knobs is that the space for the pot shaft isn't quite long enough for the knob to reach all the way down to the nut and washer. Other than that, I love them. Next time I order I'm going to snag some of these just to compare: http://www.smallbearelec.com/servlet/Detail?no=110

When I have knobs like that, I file down the top of the pot shaft until it is lower.  It's a hassle, but it usually looks much better.

Those knobs are REALLY shallow. There might only be half a shaft left by the time you file them down. I have some if you want them, Dave, just let me know. I could really use a few white (like, real white, not "Tayda white") 1900s if you have them.

Are  those knobs such that you could bore the hole deeper or is the hole already maxed out for the way they're shaped?

Great colour, very nice build!

sub-panels, people! they solve all those tricky knob/skirts/nuts problems.

the problems they create under the panel, however, is fish, in a different kettle.

Unfortunately, I don't really use 1900s.  As you've seen, I obsessively use aluminum knobs on almost all of my 1590a builds.

Shoot me an email if there's anything else you need.

fish, in a different kettle.

And in a 1590A, they had better be about the size of sea monkeys... ;D

It is true. And unfortunate, because other than that, I love 'em.

They're pretty close to maxed out because of the shape of the upper part of the knob. I think with both, though---a couple mm deeper bore and a few mm pot shaft filing, as pickdropper suggested---they would look great. But so much work...!

Are those from Small Bear , Mouser or somewhere else?

I wonder if the Eagle knobs version from Mouser is set deeper.

Mine were from Small Bear. I haven't been able to find those on Mouser - have you sourced them from there before? The great thing about Mouser is the $5.00 flat rate economy shipping...

Great works as always!!!!!

In the mid time, here you have one of my recent builds. In this fuzz I found half the work done, since a very good friend of mine gave me the asembled guts :icon_wink:. It´s full of vintage components and recycled ones, so it has a vintage sound from top to bottom.

In this stomp I decided for a quite simple artwork: a plain snakeskin and the model name in a square. It´s not even clear-coated in order to see how affects time to polished aluminum. Little more to say... pics:

Clear stomp switch rings? What sorcery is this?

I´ve been using for serveral moths and they seem quite strong!! No cracks in any of more or less 10 used by now.

Love that snakeskin etch, Alejandro! Good stuff.

it's funny how people say something like:

... and the rest of us sit looking and drooling.

Alejandro B. - Nice build and superb etch!

I am a novice builder and have a question:  Without no jumper running from lug 1 to 6 on the footswitch, you don't get any excessive "pop" when switching or hum when in bypass mode?
It is my understanding the without the jumper, that is often the case. Just trying to learn.
