Alejandro B. - Nice build and superb etch!

I am a novice builder and have a question:  Without no jumper running from lug 1 to 6 on the footswitch, you don't get any excessive "pop" when switching or hum when in bypass mode?
It is my understanding the without the jumper, that is often the case. Just trying to learn.

It looks like he is using the middle pole to switch the LED, which has no effect on the audio.

4th 1590a ^-^
Madbean La Vache Overdrive ::)
I re-designed the circuitboard for a 1590a with onboard 16mm pots
Suprising versilate pedal  :icon_wink:
Volume, Gain, Boost and waveform controls + multicolored LED
If anyone want to use any of theese LEDs, make shure to add a cap in paralell to filter out the noise from the switching colors :P

It's not always easy, but it's never impossible :D

That´s it!

Thanks your for your compliments and like hylandren says that lug just lights the led. It has no effect in sound chain. I´m also new in this, specially in guts, but this cable disposition works quite effectively.

duck_arse: Thank you man  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:!!

When I mention simplicity is mainly referred to artwork: a crocodile skin and a text box. Thanks to this forum, among others, I´ve learned to etch moderatedly good and I can say one thing: you need good advices and tons of practice-error-practice. One day I´ll show my first etch in "worst pedal thread". But I reaffirm what I said: is simple thanks to all of you ;) ;)!!

Yes, I followed the wires and I do realize you are using the center set of poles as the ground for the LED.
But as I understand it, if the switch is not jumpered so that the ground connects to the the board input when the pedal is in bypass, there is often a loud pop when switching some pedals like fuzzes.
I have only built a few pedals, but have so far always included the jumper, mainly because several of the heavy hitters recommended doing it for improved silent switching. That was the only reason I asked...
Regardless, it sounds like you are really happy with it as it is, and its definitely a great looking pedal, so there's obviously no problem.

Havaden:
That's an interesting knob on the right, for the gain.
I don't think I've seen it before, and its smaller diameter might really come in handy  when using 9mm pots that are close together, to conserve space.
Do you remember where you got it ?

Edit:
Found them ;)

The seller has cheaper packages if you want more than one, but they are quite expensive

They can be a pain if you place them wrong on the pot, since they can be really hard to get off the shaft after they are inserted.

I already posted it at superfly's thread and forgot to post it here!
This is my last 1590a amp

Theese space amps are Mad!  :o
I burnt the amp chip in the test, so my 100w amp is packed away at the moment. :icon_confused:

"Runt" - Love it!  :D

PD, out of curiosity, do you ever board-mount pots or switches in a 1590A, or do you always use offboard wire? I'd love to board-mount pots in some of these, but since the board often has to sit on top of the jacks and so far I haven't found 9mm pots with long enough pins, it seems nearly impossible. A while back there was a thread where someone mentioned using PCB mount jacks with screw in ferrules, but TMK no one tried it.

Just wondering if you or someone else has any ideas re this.

I don't do this, but it could be done.  The main issue would be that you would have to mount the PCB lower in the enclosure.  It might make it easier if you also board mounted the DC jack.  You may have an easier time doing this with open jacks (unless the PCB was really small).

I prefer full size enclosed jacks.  This allows me to mount the board on top of the jacks, but that creates enough space that board mounting the pots doesn't really work.  It's definitely a hassle wiring all of the pots off-board, but we all suffer for our art.   :icon_mrgreen:

Posting right after Pickdropper is not a good time to make an impression but anyways...

Three Tim E circuits:

I added an LPB to the front end of the Thing Modulator so I can add some clean signaal to the mix. The other two are stock circuits.

No problem posting those after Pick,  they look great.

Yeah, those look fantastic, Peter.  Great job.

Don't get too excited.  From a kit:

Here is my DOD 280 compressor using tonepad's layout, nice little circuit.
