Wall-wart question

Let's say i have a wall-wart that says 9V/500mA. Does it mean that maximum current draw by witch is the wall-wart able to hold 9V is 500mA?

Yes :)
Although I would play safe and stay below that value, allowing a margin. Pushing things to the max will probably make something smoke sooner or later ;)
A lot depends on the manufacturer as well I think, maybe it's capable of outputting 500mA but only for a small time and it's continuous rating is more like 450mA?

If it says 9v 500mA then it is designed to do that forever. And it is designed to give about 9v when 500mA is drawn.
if you take more current, it will run hotter than the designer expected. And if you take less, the voltage will rise above 9V.
If you take a LOT more current, it might burn out, or a fuse (possibly unreplacable) may burn out first, as a safety measure.
I can't tell you how much the voltage will vary with current, depends on the design.
