Adding clipping diodes to booster circuit -- functional difference between . . .

Apologies in advance for the rudimentary text-based graphic, and what's probably a rather rudimentary question too...

Here's two basic arrangements for using a pair of diodes for clipping near the end of a booster circuit.  Functionally, can these be considered the same?

I'm curious if there's any difference, because the 2nd signal path arrangement below seems to lend itself better to a simple single throw switch to make/break the connection to the diodes (for example, to switch between 'clean boost' and 'diode clipping' modes...)

Those are functionally identical. The latter makes for easier switching as you point out.

Great.  That's what I suspected, but thanks for confirming -- much appreciated.

My soldering iron awaits...
