Why is my pedal passing signal unaffected?

I used this diagram for the off-board wiring on my latest project:

It works fine in bypass.  When I switch it on, the signal still passes through with the same tone but much quieter.  I took the battery out and hit the switch a few times, and it sounds as if it were in bypass.  Also, the LED doesn't light up.  Whoops!

I ran into a problem wiring a guitar once when I forgot a ground, but the volume pot and ground strip on the board are connected to the ground on the switch.

I'm going to guess that you wired your switch sideways.

Make sure that the switch is oriented correctly but using a meter to find which three lugs form each SPDT switch.

1 & 4, 2 & 5, 3 & 6 have continuity to each other. When I hit the switch, 4 & 7, 5 & 8, and 6 & 9 have continuity to each other.

So... I think the switch is oriented correctly.

I figured it out.  I had the wires from the board going to the wrong places.  It was flipped upside down!

My lead dress got all messed up as a result of hastily putting everything back in the opposite way... :(
