Hello,

I just finished a ROG Omega, but the result it's far from what i expected to be.
First, i used a 2N7000 which have made a lot of hiss/squeals. After i replaced it with a BS170 it sounded much better, but still has some hiss.
If i use the setup: Guitar(Squire - single coils)->Omega->Tube amp it sounds almost ok, but when i've put Omega in front of RM Axis Fuzz  it sounds like hell...too much gain/hiss/squeals...the same thing in front of a RM Octavia...the same thing in front of a Big Muff Pi...why??

Can i modify it to have a gain pot?

What mods can i do on it (i had read sometime ago a post where somebody told that he changed some caps...but i can't find it)?

I finished boxing Omega the other day, -2 knobs, and it works great in front of TB and FF and D+, of course they're toned down a little bit to accomodate the higher input.
Tube amp it sounds almost ok
Should sound 'better', have you set the trimpot and tested for bias on the transistors?
the BMP, Octave and Axis Fuzz are all high gain, did you try adjusting all the gains/volume controls?
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
