Hey Everyone,
I'm considering making one myself, but I wanted to see if anyone has done a vero layout for Dragonfly's "Facebender"? I'm going to do a Smallbear order pretty soon, and I want to get this one going.

Thanks!

I would also like to build a Facebender, but I've tried creating a Vero layout, and I just end up frustrated.

If anyone has one they would be willing to share I think we would all be most grateful!

Rock on!

I'm planning to build one too.  I was going to start with this layout:

With it being on vero, it should be easy enough to modify.  I hope.

I just made a quick handdrawn vero layout for this in my cofee break.

If anyone is interested, I will be happy to make a final version in Bancikas DIY layout Creator.

I have a few OC140's and this seems like a nice applikation for them.

Another Dragonfly design that would be cool to build on Vero is the Silicon Tonebender as seen below.  Does anyone happen to have one they would be willing to share?

My third build was RDV's (Ricky Vance) npn silicon tonebender and its my absolute favourite fuzz. Actually it was my first vero layout: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3476

It doesn't have a tone control and I have considered adding one.

I haven't checked what other mods Dragonfly has made, but they are propably great. I'm sure my original layout can be modified to accommodate for Dragonfly's mods. For comparison RDV's schematic is here: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3969

A highly recommended build.

Here's my layout for the Facebender

It was done very quickly and it is not verified, so please check it before using it. If you find something, let me know.

Looking at it again ,you should be able to make it a few columns narrower. If you move the jumper at column 20 to column 15 you will save one.
you can save another one by moving the trace cut at F9 to F8 (under C5). Lastly you can make the jumpers at column 7 and 19 solder bridges. While not very pretty, it makes it at bit more compact.

Also, if you use a standing trimmer (VR1) you could save a column or two.

I know its a bit tight in the lower left part, but with a small electrolyte it should be doable.

If you have any questions, ideas or comments, please ask

Have fun

Wow thanks man!
I'm rolling around the idea of buying the kit from BYOC and then modifing it, but if I do it from scratch I'll verify your layout.

Thanks!

I´m sorry for reactivating this old thread, but has anyone already verified this Layout?
I´m planning to build it for a friend for X-Mas.

I think C2 and C4 have to be turned 180° ?!

Thanks for looking it over. I will check it later tonight.

I have never built it myself. I just happened to have some spare time and I prefer doing vero layouts instead of soduko.

I think you are right, C2 and C4 are reversed.

I don't have access to a pc with win XP, so I can't run the first version of diylc in order to correct the layout. However I have added a note in the layout gallery.

If you build it, please let me know.
