Found this at a pawn shop for a few bucks. It needs a new speed pot. Where can i find long shaft pots for this?

It might help if you tell us what value of pot you're looking for, and what the shaft looks like.  You need to open it up, or look for a schematic.

Most of the info you'll need to fix the Moog designed MP-1 is here:

It looks like the Speed pot is 1M-C...

Radio Shack ? not sure yours has 1m/longshaft, might be worth a call or drop by.
Try looking part # up online, then ask if available.

Interestingly, from looking at the schem, it appears that both pots are 1M reverse audio taper, but since "balls" is being turned counterclockwise and "speed" is being turned clockwise, they act like they have opposite tapers.  This should mean that if you don't care too much about vintage appearance, you could swap the positions of the pots and use 1M audio taper pots, which are easier to get.  Of course, I imagine that it might make the wiring a bit messier, and if it causes longer wires to the speed pot, it may not be worth it (if it causes an LFO tick to come through).

Likewise, if the taper is more important to you on speed than balls (I hope this sentence is never read out of context!), you could use the balls pot for speed and swap in a 1M linear for balls.

I rebuilt one of those a few months ago....nice sounding pedal.
Rat Shack has long shaft linear pots that may fit the bill.

Man, some people have all the luck!  :icon_surprised:
