Does it matter if you solder the bits on a DPDT backwards? I have connected the two that are by the one together for perspective. Right now I'm bread boarding and I'm have the problem with the sound not coming through unless the switch is turned on, and when the switch is turned on the effect doesn't come through at all and it's like I'm playing clean.

Also I'b building dragonfly's coloursound if that makes a difference.

Also Also with reading on a veroboard layout how the wires connect to the jacks, does it go by which level the ends are connected to or is it by how far physically the different levels are from the ends?

I can't even get the bypass to work anymore, I'll post pictures tomorow if someone is willing to help me with it =]

Ok so I managed to get the bypass to work, and when I press the switch I get a basically the same sound but slightly fatter. I am using a linear pot instead of audio, should this make this difference? Like the linear is 1,2,3,4,5 and the audio would be 1,10,100,1000, which is why I can't get a different sound except for a bit fatter?

Well, I can tell you this, if your sound is changing at all with a change of the switch then that means you've wired it properly, and that it is just a subtle effect. I am not exactly sure about the linear or audio taper deal, but on geofex R.G. has a section dedicated to potentiometers called The Secret Life of Pots, you should definitely check that out. About the switch, (I may have misunderstood what you were saying at first) as long as you've got the bypassed signal on one side of the dpdt (the jumper) and the input/output of effect/circuit board on the other side and your middles go to in and out jacks you should be good. It doesnt matter which side has which stuff on it, as long as you wired to the right places. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I tried wiring a switch both ways and it worked. I figured out that the reason I was getting no sound was because I had wired the jacks wrong, but I've figured that out now. I still get very little difference in sound though from on to off, and I don't think it is a subtle effect because it is a fuzz. Also the when I turn th pot all the way to one side the sound disappears completely, and I don't think that is supposed to happen, but I'm not sure. Any more input would be greatly appreciated =].

Ok so I managed to get it to work =], just 3 problems I have now.

1.) When the knob is turned all the way to the side theguitar makes no sound whatso ever, weather the pedal is turned on or not.

2.) I can't get any sounds out of the knob, when I turn the knob it doesn't affect my sound at all, until I hit that point at which it turns my sound off.

3.) I'm not sure if this is so much a problem, but it makes my guitar really bassy, should it do this?

4.) I can only really hear it when my distortion (the distortion is on my orange amp, so it's more of an overdrive) is up a bit.

Does a fuzz just sort of add on to the distortion you already have or something?

I'm now using an audio pot.
