will this speaker setup for a ruby work?

I have several woofers and tweeters from salvaged electronics. Could I set up a low pass filter at the end of the signal chain, and instead of directing it directly to ground, putting a tweeter there. Would that make the high frequencies that are filtered out drive the tweeter, or am I way off on how filters work?

do you want the ruby to drive more than one speaker? ie have the bulk go to a speaker but then have only the highs go to a separate tweeter? you'll probably find that for a guitar signal a mid-range speaker will give you the highs that you need.

Having more than one speaker would be optimal, I'm just interested in wether or not it would work.
